First Chilly Night

After the first chilly night in the fall, Mechanical Extremes’ phone rings in the morning.  Why?  Because furnaces don’t always come back to life as they should.  There are reasons for this.

Any of these parts could be defective–blower motor, control board, induced draft motor, limit switches, or gas valves.

When the blower runs but no heat, a faulty igniter may fail to light the burner.  The second likely cause is a dirty flame sensor.  In such case, the tech will file away the accumulation, and the furnace will once again fire up properly.

The good news?  Mechanical Extremes’ five service vans are stocked full of replacement parts.  Even more parts are easily accessible at the Mechanical Extremes warehouse.

With temperatures dipping into the low 40s and even 30s, you would think most people would have awakened their furnace from its long summer nap by now.  “Not so,” says Mechanical Extremes’ Stacey Wilkes.  “We know some people wait until November 1st to turn on the heat.”  Others put it off until they can no longer stand the chill.   “Eventually, everyone gives in when the first polar blast sweeps down upon us.”

Whenever you need to warm up, Mechanical Extremes is standing by and ready to help restore comfort to your home.
