Energy Efficiency

What Efficiency Means to You

SEER

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, it’s a rating available through your Carrier dealer. Think of it has miles per gallon when you’re shopping for cars, the higher the rating the more efficient the product and potential for savings.

AFUE

To compare furnace models, check the AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) ratings. Much like miles per gallon, the higher the number, the more efficient the product and the greater the potential for savings. Standard furnaces normally waste up to 20 cents per dollar spent on heating.

Actual furnace and air conditioner performance will vary depending on your home, comfort preferences and more.
